Man, I used to play this game on my Wii U back around 2014, but sadly, around August 2015, my gamepad had died, tried charging it (and I guess I might've overcharged it) and boom, no longer used.. Not to mention back around, I believe May 2014, when I was about to get on the Wii U, the gamepad screen was all messed up, and I was able to see through it whatsoever while playing any game on the Wii U. Since I have a New Nintendo 2DS XL (even though I've gotten it for 2 years now), I could get Sonic Lost World for the 3DS and see how it all goes down.
