I really wished Nintendo gave another thought before shutting down WiiConnect24, Nintendo Wifi Connection, and Miiverse since now when u go to play games that needed these it feels off Like how Tournaments in Mario Kart 8 are gone, SMM1 no longer lets user submit levels, Any games that where online on Wii are no more and that sucks cause Xbox360 and PS3 online component still works so why not Nintendo And ik that one day NNID's will seize to exist because that's how Nintendo rolls and there's nothing u can do about it

Yeah... I find it weird how they cut off Miiverse and Wii U Chat at the same time. Wii U Chat uses the same server as other Wii U online games so I don't get it.
But yeah, it's gonna get to a point where NN is gonna shut down. I estimate it happening either 2022 or 2023. :(

I think the Call of Duty Games on Wii still have online play but I bet that won’t be long more as Goldeneye 007 had online shutdown in 2020 (I think). Though yeah, Wii U chat for example didn’t need to shutdown and neither did Miiverse.

WiiConnect24 was THE shit... I miss EVC. The only thing that resembles the good old times of Miiverse is the Mario Maker 2 comments, as you can even use the exact same Mii expressions that Miiverse had.

I dont think Nintendo Network is shutting down anytime soon lol

The E-Shops are still connected to it and you can still link your NNID to buy games through the Nintendo Online Website and get them automatically installed on your 3ds / Wii u

Also Nintendo gave an official interview in 2014 stating that they wont shut down NNID as early like they did with WFC on ds and Wii they said they will keep it running as long as possible even if nobody uses it

Their plan was all the way till the 2030s

They probably got sick of Miiverse because moderation was expensive and they got annoyed by the exploits and hackers lol
